  1. Hey there - bad blogger me - both as poster & reader. Trying to catch up....

I can't do heavy fragrance - it makes me nauseous. So my top 2 are Bobbi Brown Beach (usu summer, but use all year long) and Burberry London (standard winter scent, but use for dress up and kick-ass days all year long). My 3rd (backup) scent is Mission Acqua.

Good luck in your search - finding that perfect fragrance is not easy. :)

  2. HeidiG: Hello dear! Hope all is well. Thanks for the input. I appreciate you sharing. I havent tried Bobbi Brown and Mission Acqua but will keep it on my when I go to Nordstrom this weekend coz theyre having a fragrance event. I know its difficult to find one too bad Calyx will be pulled from the stores. I absolutely love this fragrance on me just fresh and light. Thanks again =)

  3. Wait, what? Calyx is going bye-bye? NOT RIGHT. That fragrance is beautiful. :( Grr.

In my opinion, Paris by YSL and J'Adore by Dior are my favorites. I love florals, and both of these are very distinctive, yet classic florals.

My least favorites are the fruity scents. I feel like they are equal to "fruity" mixed drinks...in other words, pleasing to a young person, but a bit cloying to anyone a bit more seasoned. ;)

Enjoy yourself and let us know what you choose!

  4. Dinagideon: Hi! Thanks for your input! I know, I love Calyx! The lady at Nordstrom said I better stock up. I would except that I want my signature scent to be available at all times! I love smelling good so I average about 3 large bottles of Calyx a year and around 1 1/2 of the Bvlgari Pour femme. The Bvlgari will be a keeper but I want to have another one. I loved Gucci Summer Rush but its only available during the summer! I went through 5 bottles in one year! I ran out one time and I was told it wont be available till summer the year after so I quit buying it. I hope the next one I find will be a classic one so I wont have to search hi and low for supply =) I will definitely try J'adore and Paris. I tried Ms. Dior Cherie but it was too young and sweet...I couldnt breath! hahaha

Thanks so much dear! I will definitely write about what I end up buying =)

  5. I forgot to mention - one tip I read about trying out fragrance is to go to sleep with it on. If you still love it when you wake up, then it's right for you.

also - if you have some scents that you really like, try looking them up on Sephora.com - they sort scents by category, so you could see what else may be in that same catgory to try.

  6. HeidiG: I spray fragrance at night before I go to sleep hahaha so I also have done it with samples and when in the morning they smell totally different, I dont buy them. Thats why I always request for samples but nowadays it seems like such a chore for sales associates to bother themselves with finding a sample as if thats all that you were set out there to do =) I remember years ago when you could live off of samples because they gave you so much! Oh well, those were the days and these are the times.

Thanks so much for the Sephora suggestion. I had been wondering which website offered that. I remembered using that years ago which brought me to the Gucci Summer Rush. Thanks dear! You are awesome!!!

  7. I really love the melon or cucumber fragrances, like the one from Marc Jacobs. The perfume I use the most is Miss Dior Cherie because it's not too strong. Like Heidi I hate heavy smells. I actually buy a lot of Demeter perfume because it's pretty inexpensive and I can buy a lot of different smells, they aren't too strong either. My favorite right now is the green tea scent.

  8. Summerilla: thanks! Youre going to like the Viktor and Rolf Eau Mega! You should try it. It doesnt blend well with my pH. It has a cucumber smell and I loved it! Let me know if you like it =)

As for the Miss Dior Cherie, I bought it and still have it. I tried it for several days but it I have mixed feelings...not sure if its too sweet on me. It stayed on my watch strap and i love its scent there not sure on me though. I will try it again tonight hehehe. I love the new purse spray that comes with it which is why I am so tempted to keep it.

I cant take heavy smells either. I will definitely write down the Marc Jacobs one and try it =) Thanks again!

  11. I love anything with Gardenia.
Fracas by Robert Piguet or Annick Goutal Gardenia Passion. I tried the Annick Goutal when I was in college and fell in love. It stretched my poor college student budget, but was worth it. It just smells so fresh and feminine to me.

  12. I have gotten more compliments for my BBW Blackberry Amber than anything else. Unfortunately it's discontinued. I do like BBW Vanilla Noir.

  13. Pamela: Thanks for that. I love Annick Goutal. It is expensive though. Hmmm...I will definitely go and check out the Gardenia =) Thanks again.

Mary: I never tried it but I do like Vanilla scents as well. Thanks for sharing =)
